We are happy to announce that the Pretoria branch of the organization,
Diabetes South Africa, have now relocated to our premises at
Suite 6, @Health Medical Centre, 258 Jean Avenue, Centurion.

| Diabetes Centurion |

Our vision is to equip the diabetic patient, through
education and guidance, to a position of confidently being able to control
his\her diabetic condition and acquire the knowledge to react positively to an
emergency, according to a well trained drill. We envisage a sense of
responsibility by the patient to seek advice and assistance, when in doubt, and
to attend the diabetic clinic at regular intervals for screening for
complications and treatment if necessary.
As part of the “Diabetic Community” we strive to make a contribution towards
this community by reaching out to certain groups on a regular basis.
Eg. A meeting with the pharmacist, in our area, on 10/11/2010 to establish improved channels of
communication.
A regular event on the calander is our “open day” . On this day we strive to do
screening and education but in general aim to reach people that are unaware of
their risk profile. In 2010 it was held on the 17th of April and in 2011 it is
scheduled for the 17 th of September 2011.
We are members of Diabetes SA(Pretoria branch), and in this regard Dr. Dan and
Rona attended the childrens diabetic camp during the weekend of 23/24 October
2010.

| Kleuters leer meer oor gesondheid |
|

Op 20 Julie het ‘n groep van 27 kleuters van die Rep & Roer Kleuterskool ‘n opvoedkundige besoek gebring aan die @health Mediese Sentrum. Die kinders is op toer deur die sentrum geneem en het meer geleer oor die vele mediese en gesondheidsdienste wat in die sentrum aangebied word. Die kinders het geskenkpakkies by elke besoekpunt ontvang. Volgens Anette Human, hoof van Rep & Roer Kleuterskool was dit ‘n dag vol pret vir die kinders en hulle het sommer baie geleer ook! |
